Most of these bred ewe write ups start or end with "we shouldn't be selling this one" but that actually fits here. To be honest the day we grabbed these two ewes Gump and I had to get on the road to Texas so we walked through and grabbed two strictly off phenotype and scanned them. It wasn't until today that I actually figured out which ewe this is. She was far and away my favorite ratchet female In that lamb crop and I was pumped when she bred as a ewe lamb. Unfortunately she had a late term abortion and made me wait another year. She went in with birthday pony and had a set of March boys that where killer good and would generate over 6,000. One went to Arkansas off the farm, and the other got hauled to the young guns and found a real good home in Tx. He will be heard from this spring if he keeps going like he is.
Phenotypically, she's flat good Livestock. Don't think it matters what species you are taking about. If they look like this they are pretty elite. Her shoulder construction is awesome, her rib cage is gigantic, her loin and hip are huge, and she has shapely muscle.
I had major 2nd thoughts on hauling her when we had her on the stand getting her ready to picture. I'd take advantage of my last minute sorting and lack of planning to add a dang good one to your operation.
