1st Place Junior Ram, 2016 Indiana State Fair. With 2 mature bucks and another yearling in the keeper pen, we decided to offer this guy at the 2017 National Southdown Sale. Sired by Forsee R14-269 (pictured above), the Chip son Brian sent Sheila and I to replace Chip after his untimely death, who was the 2014 Reserve Grand Ram at the NAILE Junior Show and Reserve Junior Champion in the NAILE Open Show. Crowder 1614 is dammed by a Junge ewe we purchased in Sedalia a few years back and we have sold EVERY male sheep she has produced (thankfully she finally gave us a ewe lamb this year and you bet she is in the keeper pen). I remember telling my wife after handling this ewe in the ring that she had as much natural muscle as any Southdown ewe I had ever seen. Study this guy hard and analyze his skeletal quality…round ribbed, shallow chested, big topped and a set of feet that would make a steer jock jealous. Several visitors have come through this spring to purchase wethers and we appreciate the compliments they have given our set of Southdowns.
