Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
Size 7.5 - 7.75 Elongated Hexagon (looks like a D see images for detail) is designed be the artist of 133MK and again has used a layered process to create yet another unique and beautiful piece. The first layer of the ring has inlayed coral, precious opal, jet and/or onyx . On this layer is a sterling mount, inside the sterling mount is an intricate network of coral, precious opal, jet and/or onyx. The inlayed center measures 23.1 mm x 12.6 mm. The overall ring measures 34.6 mm 22.8 mm and weighs 15.5 g, band width is 12.5 mm near the ring crown and 6.4 mm on the back of the band. Ring is stamped rn, but is not stamped sterling NOTE: piece has been tested and is silver.
