Manufactured in 1970. The barrel has the one line address with "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" on the left. The frame has the three line, three patent dates with Rampant Colt. Matching serial number on frame and grip straps under the grip with assembly number "5" on the right rear of the frame and loading gate. The accompanying factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, and pearlite grips featuring gold medallions with the shipped finish being nickel. The revolver was shipped on December 8, 1970 with a consecutively numbered revolver (58134SA) to Charles Schreiner III, Texas Ranger Historical Arms, Y.O. Ranch, Mountain Home, Texas. (Note that revolver 58134SA is also featured in this auction.) Charles Schreiner III started the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America in 1964 to preserve the then near extinct cattle, which had declined to 1,000 or fewer from the tens of millions in the late 19th century. His efforts to preserve the longhorns was a success that continues to this day. Schreiner went beyond the conservation of longhorn cattle to include exotic animals from Africa, South America, and Asia at his Y.O. Ranch. The Y.O. Ranch was started by Schreiner's grandfather and today is home of the largest collection of live wild animals. Comes with a sealed box of Y.O. Ranch .45 caliber cartridges, Colt Stagecoach box, and papers.
