This is an example of a Remington Model 1903A4 sniper rifle manufactured in 1944, that was subsequently refurbished by an arsenal and fitted with an M84 scope.(This type configuration is known to have been used in the Vietnam Conflict!) The barrel is marked "R A/Ordnance Bomb/8-43" with the receiver marked "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" offset to the left side. The rifle does not have a front sight and has a Redfield marked scope base mounted to the top of the receiver. There is a M84 scope serial number "10685" with flip up turret covers in the steel scope rings. The bottom flat at the base of the knob is marked "R". The trigger guard, floor plate and barrel bands are parkerized. Scant grip pattern stock with circled "P" proof, "FJA" cartouche, "RIA/EB" cartouche, a white painted "4" on the bottom of wrist, sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor (empty).

Condition: Near mint as arsenal refurbished, 99% parkerized finish with some scattered minor scratches and rub marks. The stock is very fine as arsenal sanded with some scattered minor dings and scratches with faint but legible proofs and cartouches. Mechanically excellent. The scope is excellent with some scattered light scratches and a ring mark at the front with clear optics.
