This is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 U.S. Army Revolver. It features fixed sights with round blade front and a notch frame cut rear sight. The top of the barrel has the two line S&W address/patent dates. The left side of the barrel is marked "S&W DA 45", the underside of the barrel is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and the butt is marked "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917/No/46/573". Flaming ordnance bomb on upper right side of left frame. The matching serial number is marked on the butt, barrel and rear cylinder face. The crane and frame are marked with the assembly number "8664". Fitted with smooth walnut grips.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus original blue finish with only scattered scratches and minor edge wear along with distinct drag line on cylinder. Casehardened hammer and trigger are excellent. The grips are excellent with minor scratches and pressure dents from handling. Markings are crisp. Mechanically fine.
