Wood cased Remington-Beals 1st Model Pocket revolver, .31 cal., 3” octagon barrel, rosewood grips, #75. This gun is in overall very good condition displaying cleaned to bright metal surfaces, blued frame-mountedpawl, crisp action, good markings on top of frame “Manufactured by Remington, Ilion N.Y.”; fine grips, screw in base of butt strap; unusual older custom wood casing is in overall very good condition with dovetailconstruction, interior appears hand carved and made to nicely house the revolver, a brass bullet mold, cleaning rod and near fine condition spread eagle brass powder flask; interior also contains a round lead ballcompartment with swivel wood cover; also contained is a brass collection disc “345”. The Beal’s was Remington’s first revolver made between 1857 and 1858 with an estimated production of around 4,500. Est.:$1,500-$3,000.
