Native tanned elk hide and commercial leather dress with outstanding pictorial elements. Possibly Cheyenne, beadwork features horses mounted by warriors in full headdresses with opposing green and yellow horse heads on the sleeves. Long fringe at the openings, and shorter fringe along the width of the dress. Beaded along the seams with blue, red, yellow, and green on a white background. Oval decorations at the drop waist with beaded hide drops. Some remaining red pigment at the top of the hide and along the collar. 52" long. Tiered fringe on the sleeves from 2" to 12" long. Circa 1900.
