Winchester model 53 lever-action rifle, .25-20 caliber, 22” round barrel, half magazine, milled steel shotgun butt, serial #2830, in its original cardboard box with end label. The rifle remains in fine to excellent original condition with 95-97% original blue, some slight losses at the bottom left edge of the frame and upper edge of left frame and muzzle with some just beginning areas of miniscule pinprick pitting and natural aging. The stocks are fine to excellent with a couple of minute scratches. The rifle shows the original rear sight in its correct dovetail and original front sight with Lyman globe sight in factory dovetail. Action is crisp, the interior shows little use, the bore is bright. A strong 9.7 to 9.8 on 1-10 scale. Very difficult to find with original box. Est: $4,000 - $8,000
