Winchester model 1886 Special Order Rifle, 26" octagon barrel, full magazine, 40-65 W.C.F., blue and case hardened finish, hard rubber shotgun butt, Lyman tang sight in near fine original condition, serial #97389. Thebarrel and magazine tube show 90-95% original blue slightly thinning on the edges, just some beginning normal age. Sharp and crisp overall with very deep and bright blue. The frame shows 70-80% case hardening that isaging nicely with colors evenly distributed on both sides of the frame, just drifting on the bottom of the frame and some normal aging. The forend cap shows traces of case hardening drifting to silver. The hammershows 85% plus original case hardening. The lever shows 50-60% case hardening with some vivid colors where protected. The bolt shows 95% original blue, the stocks are very good plus to near fine with a couple of minorscratches and marks. The hard rubber buttplate shows Winchester logo and is in fine condition. The action is tight, the bore is excellent. A very crisp and untouched '86 with a pleasing look. Est: $8,000 - $12,000.
