Winchester model 1876 semi deluxe .40-60 caliber rifle, 28” octagon barrel, full magazine, select varnished wood stock, probably 1X. Blue and case hardened finish. Received in the warehouse 9/26/1885, shipped9/28/1885 to order #904. Serial #47317. Features confirmed by Cody Firearms Museum. The rifle shows 50-70% original blue on barrel and magazine tube, evenly thinning and toning with some light erosion drifting topatina and beginning normal age. The edges are fairly sharp, the barrel address and caliber markings are well defined. The rifle retains a correct express type folding rear sight and a blade front sight in the correctdovetails. The frame shows 40-60% case hardening that is evenly drifting and toning with some very colorful areas and some small areas of vivid case hardening where protected including rear of frame, front ofsideplates, beneath lever. The loading gate shows 50-70% thinning original blue. The varnish wood stocks show a good grain and approx. 90% varnish with just some minor nicks and discoloration which is mostly on
