Winchester model 1873 lever-action rifle, .44-40 caliber, 24” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, serial #98907B. Showing frontier period tacks and decorations, dust-cover removed. The metal surfaces arecompletely uncleaned and unpolished showing a grey to brown patina finish with some erosion and pinprick pitting. The stocks are well worn and show breaks and repairs. The gun shows many period upholstery typebrass-tacks with sheet steel and dyed-leather square cross with decorations. The tacks show dark patina at their edges, the tops were polished approx. 50 years ago and are now going back to patina. The stock showsareas previously wrapped with metal bands, now missing. Barrel address is legible. Action working, bore rough. In our opinion the décor is 100% real and of the period. Est: $800 - $1,600
