Winchester model 1873 Special Order Rifle, .44-40 caliber, 24” octagon barrel, button magazine, case hardened frame, select varnish wood stock, rifle butt, tang sight, two-leaf folding rear sight in fine to near excellent original condition serial #174030A. The rifle shows approx. 94-98% original heavy blue on barrel, some slight losses at the edges, minor toning and just beginning normal aging. The barrel address is sharp, blue isbright, barrel is crisp. The frame, lever, and hammer show 85-95% strong case hardening drifting slightly with some very vibrant and colorful rainbow hues. The colors are absolutely original and show the desirablereddish purple along with greens and blues. The dust cover shows 90-95% thinning blue, the loading gate shows 90% plus original bright blue. The forend cap shows 75-85% case hardening aging nicely. The hammer and lever show 75-85% case hardening that is vivid on the front of the hammer and toning nicely on the balance. The varnish wood stocks are excellent with 90-95% varnish, some slight scratches, and just minimal age. The
