Winchester model 1866 special order carbine, .44 rimfire caliber. Half nickel finish. All features as standard on carbine, serial #50362B. The barrel shows traces of original blue, the magazine shows 30-50% original thinning blue. The metal surfa show some light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The barrel address is light but visible. The barrel retains early style carbine rear sight and factory nickel bands with early front band showing integral sight. The frame shows 90-95% original nickel plate just starting to age and lift slightly. Some scratches, hits from saddle-ring, but generally very good and crisp frame with tight sideplates and just a couple of slight areas of prying on the right edge. The loading gate shows 75% original blue, the hammer and lever show most original nickel with some flaking and darkening on the lever. The buttplate shows 60-70% original nickel that is drifting and toning. The wood is good to very good with some scratches and mars, and the initials AW cut into the right side and at least very good overall. The action is tight and works well. The bore is very good plus to near fine and still bright. A very respectable special-order 66. Est: $8,000 -
