Winchester Model 71 lever action rifle in .348 W.C.F. caliber with a 24” barrel, blue finish, half magazine tube, walnut pistol grip stock, metal butt plate, serial number 41953. This rifle remains in very good condition showingapproximately 70% to 80% original blue finish with losses to the edges and high points along with wear towards the muzzle and normal aging. The receiver shows some scratches and pinprick pitting along with some blue drifting to a brown patinaas does the magazine tube also. The left side of the receiver shows eight tap holes which for a side rail mount all have the tap screws still remaining. The barrel shows sharp marking and the sights are retained. The wood remains in very good condition with nicks and scratches from normal use and carry. There has been sling swivel mounts added but no sling swivels are attached. These model 71s replaced the 1886 lever action rifles in 1935 and were produced till 1957 withapproximately 47,000 produced. Est.: $700-$1400
