Winchester Model 1895 lever action special order rifle, .30 US cal., 22” extra light round barrel, blue finish, wood stocks, shotgun butt, #31429. This gun is in overall excellent condition showing approx. 90% original finish with some scattered spots of erosion and pitting areas at the muzzle and on the right top and front side of the frame; very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings, very good wood stocks with some scattered mars from storage, an ebony inlay in the front of the fore end and correct Winchester checkered black hard rubber butt pad. Accompanied by a factory “yellow” sheet confirming all features including a Lyman Hunting front sight, confirmation of plain oil finish to wood and notation that the gun was “returned and repaired” three times, twice in 1901 and once in 1913 (gun originally shipped July 30, 1901. Est.: $4,000-$5,000.
