Winchester Model 1894 saddle ring carbine with period Lyman receiver sight mounted on left side of frame showing considerable blue finish remaining, serial number 870465 made about 1907 to 1912. The barrel and magazine tube show 20% to 40% evenly toning and thinning blue finish with the balance drifting to a smooth gray metal. The barrel address is clear and the surface is fairly sharp. The original carbine rear sight is retained and a high front sight is mounted in the original factory base to work with the Lyman receiver sight which may have been factory installed as the saddle ring was removed and screws plugged in neatly. The stocks are fair to good with many dings, mars and scratches from carry and use probably in a saddle scabbard. The action is good, the bore is good to very good and looks like it would clean to near excellent. Gale Kennedy Historical West Collection. Est.: $300-$600.
