For your consideration is a Winchester Model 1894 Rifle in .30 WCF (.30-30) caliber, serial number 825196, made in 1916. This is the classic, early 1894 rifle that was popular with the Klondike gold seekers, Texas Rangers, cowboys, ranchers, big game hunters and Mexican Revolutionaries. One of the best of the Jonathan Browning designs; this model is still respected and used today. This fine 103 year old example still retains good aged blue on the 20" octagonal barrel and magazine tube. It has the original carbine front sight and adjustable rear sight. The receiver still retains some nice original blue and has a tight action, lock-up and strong springs. The bore is dark with good rifling all the way through and just needs a good scrubbing out to be fine or better. The butt stock and forearm show normal handling. The barrel shows correct, clear Winchester address markings and patent dates. The upper tang also has correct “MODEL 1894” over “Winchester” etc. markings and the right side of the receiver appears to have a very small ranch brand neatly scratched into the metal. The Winchester 1894 is an iconic rifle from the turbulent days of the early part of the 20th century. Serial Number: 825196. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic Long Gun, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
