Winchester Model 1892 saddle ring carbine in .25-20 caliber remaining in good original condition with original to the period saddle scabbard showing its original straps. The barrel and tube show 50% to 70% original blue that is evenly toning and aging. The barrel has been mounted with a king rear sight and shows a standard carbine front sight. The rear sight is in the correct dovetail. The frame has drifted to a light gray with some slight cleaning. There is some minor pitting and erosion and two small tap holes filled by screws originally for a receiver sight. The stock is good with dings, mars, scratches and dents consistent with being carried in a scabbard on a horse. The markings are good, bore is very good, the saddle scabbard is in good condition and has been with this carbine a long time. Gale Kennedy Historical West Collection. Est.: $800-$1,600.
