Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle with Cody Letter
Manufactured in 1905. Blade front sight, adjustable buckhorn sporting rear sight, and a full length magazine. The standard two line address/patent marking is on the top barrel flat ahead of the rear sight and "32 W.C.F."at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the three line maker, model, trade mark marking and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with metal forearm tip and smooth crescent steel buttplate. The accompanying Cody letter verifies the serial number, rifle configuration, caliber, octagon barrel, plain trigger and that it was received in and shipped from the warehouse on February 7, 1905.

Condition: Very good. The barrel and magazine retain 70% original finish with some thinning to a smooth plum and edge wear. The receiver retains 50% original thin blue finish with areas of smooth brown and gray. The lever shows some strong original faded case colors in protected areas with the balance a smooth dark patina. The buttplate has a smooth dark brown patina. The wood is very good with some scattered overall minor dings and dents and shows signs of being lightly sanded and refinished at the action. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is very good.
