Winchester Model 1890 Third Model Pump Action Rifle, #623984, .22 Short cal., 24'' octagon barrel, blue finish, straight grip walnut stock and 12-groove forend, crescent steel buttplate, dovetailed Lyman front sight, and ''U''-notched rear sight with adjustment screw; sight is marked with ''Jan. 29, 1901'' patent date. Top of barrel and receiver are Winchester proofed. Mfg'd 1919. Barrel retains approx. 98% original blue; receiver approx 70% with most of the finish loss being along the top and bottom edges. Magazine tube with blue along the protected top edge; lower section has thinned and toned. Most of the buttplate finish has worn to a light brown patina. All factory lettering is clear and well defined with the barrel address being a little sharper. Wood fits tight at the surrounding metal surfaces with scattered small dents and scratches. Action is very good with a smooth hammer and trigger; bore is good showing a few spots of mild peppering and otherwise shows moderate wear for its age. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
