Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle in .38-56 caliber showing 26” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt with traces of blue and case hardened finish, serial number 56143. The barrel and magazine tube show slight traces of originalblue drifting to a light gray brown. The barrel address is sharp and crisp and the edges also are fairly good. There is some scattered light to moderate pitting and erosion and some staining. The magazine tube was cleaned long ago and is nowaging back. The frame shows strong traces of original case hardening drifting to a silver gray of which at least 10% remains. The bolt shows most of its original blue. The action works well and the bore is fair but may clean. The stocks havebeen refinished and show a slightly better than average grain. Est.:$2,000-$4,000
