Winchester Model 1886, .50 caliber express rifle with 26” round barrel, full magazine, shotgun butt, received in warehouse March 12, 1902 shipped from the warehouse March 24, 1902 to order number 9031 with caliber and features confirmed byfactory letter. Serial number 125384. The rifle shows a two leaf folding rear sight of factory style in the original dovetail. The butt stock shows a large single swivel eyelet and there has been a plaque removed from the underside of thestock in the shape of a small oval. The barrel and magazine tube show 80% to 90% original bright blue that is aging and toning evenly with some minor spotting and slight aging just starting. The barrel address is very good and clear. The frameshows 20% to 40% original blue drifting to a patina. The stocks are good to very good with some minor scratches, normal wear, slight imperfections and an excellent wood to metal fit. The butt plate is of horn and is of the correctperiod. The bolt shows most of its original bright blue and the action is tight. The bore is bright and at least very good plus to near excellent. These .50 caliber 1886’s are drying up and seldom seen on the auction market. Est.: $7,500-$15,000
