Winchester Model 1876 3rd Model Lever Action Rifle, #61138, .45-75 WCF cal., 28'' octagon barrel, straight grip walnut stock, crescent steel buttplate, Rocky Mountain front sight with silver blade, and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Upper tang is marked ''Model 1876'' with foliate design; ''King's Improvement'' barrel with two-line ''October 16, 1860'' last patent date address. Left side of receiver with ''Property of Eugene Allerton Seney Michigan'' scratched into the surface, as well as ''EA''; left side of lever and barrel also with previous owner's name. Right side of buttstock with an added pinhole border and circular design with letters that are not legible. Mfg'd 1887. Condition is good. Metal with a small amount of darkened blue finish in protected areas, the balance a combination gray bare metal with cloudy brown patina. Barrel address and other maker's marks are clear. A small amount of darkened case colors are visible on the hammer. Wood with a good overall color and shows normal light marks from handling; left side near the buttplate with 1/2''x1/4'' gouge that is deep enough to expose the lower buttplate screw. Action is good with a smooth hammer and trigger. Bore with scattered moderate surface erosion with rifling left, but is good for its age. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)
