Third Model Winchester 1873 rifle that was manufactured in 1887 and subsequently sent to the factory to be re-barreled and refinished in the 1930's. Blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights. The upper left barrel flat is marked with the two-line address/King's Improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight, "MADE IN U.S.A." next to the rear sight and the caliber marking, "32 W.C.F." at the breech. The top barrel flat and the top of the receiver at the breech are marked with the Winchester oval proof. The brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL". The top of the receiver tang is marked "MODEL 1873" and the serial number is on the lower tang. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with steel endcap and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Condition: Factory refinished with 99% blue finish remaining on the receiver and barrel assembly. The lever and forend cap retains 30% blue finish with loss due to flaking, and a smooth mottled brown patina on the balance. The wood remains very fine with a few minor dings and handling marks. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
