Winchester Model 1866 lever action rifle in .44 rim fire caliber late production series with iron butt plate and .44 caliber marked lifter, serial number 165139. The rifle shows a factory 24” round barrel, full magazine and is mounted withhandmade period sling swivel eyelets. The barrel shows light cleaning with a good address and some minor pitting and erosion. The frame is good and sharp and shows just normal aging at the edges. The stocks are fair to good with some wear to theforend, small losses, staining, scratches, mars and normal aging. The rear sight elevator is missing. The loading gate shows some bright original blue. The action is good and the bore is bright but the rifling is shallow and shows agreat deal of shooting. A decent 1866 rifle with an exceptional frame and some very bright blue on the screws and loading gate Est.: $3750-$7500
