Features 24" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, buckhorn sights, straight wrist, finger lever latch, sliding dust cover, steel crescent buttplate with sliding cover for butt trap. Bore is poor to fair condition, frosted & lightly pitted, with visible rifling. Metal surfaces show mottled brown and gray colors, thinning on edges and where handled or where action parts rub. Rear sight appears newer replacement with dark even blued finish. Screw slots are generally good with slight marring. Buttplate is good condition, matches other metal parts. Wood is fair to good condition, with many small gouges, dents and scratches throughout. Forend has visible crack running along bottom. Butt has several scrapes to left side that show deep parallel scratches. Wood to metal fit is good. Action is smooth. Dust cover has moderate side-to-side play. Model marking on top tang, two line barrel address and serial number on bottom tang are all crisp. "38 Cal" lifter marking is readable, partly obscured by small dents.
