Winchester 1890 Third Model Pump Action Rifle, #483400, .22 Short cal., 23.5'' octagon barrel, no finish, straight grip walnut stock with 12-groove forend, crescent steel buttplate, dovetailed ''1902'' patent front sight, ''1901'' patent date rear sight with adjustment screw. Top of barrel and receiver are Winchester proofed. Upper tang with correct three-line ''U.S. PAT. OFF.'' Stamp; barrel is marked on the left flat with two-line address with ''May 30, 1911'' last patent date. Mfg'd 1913. Condition is good. Metal is a combination light gray with cloudy dark spotting and surface peppering. Barrel with some flat impressions to the highpoints; address and other factory marks are clear and well defined. Wood shows age and wear consistent with the rest of the rifle, including shallow dents and scratches; buttstock with an old coat of added finish; toe with a 1.5'' hairline crack in line with the lower screw. Action is a little stiff and may just need a thorough cleaning; hammer and trigger are smooth. Bore is dark with some patches of surface erosion. Est.: $200-$300. (C&R)
