Winchester 1886 lever-action rifle, .40-65 caliber, 28” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, blue and case hardened finish, standard wood stocks, serial #75234. The rifle remains in very good plus original condition showing 60-80% original blue on barrels, thinning on the edges with some erosion and pitting on the right side, and some evidence of light cleaning in a few areas on the right side of the barrel. The barrel address is sharp, and both the barrel and tube retain some bright original blue. The frame shows 50-70% original case hardening with some good rainbow colors, some slight erosion and rust and pinprick pitting just starting. The forend cap shows 30-40% case hardening drifting to patina. The lever and hammer show 40-60% case hardening within a darkening patina. The bolt shows 90% bright blue. The loading gate shows 75% thinning blue. The trigger shows 75% original blue. The stocks are very good plus with some minor scratches, dings, mars, normal handling and use. At least 50-60% varnish on buttstock. Traces of varnish on forend. Some even handling and use. Great wood to metal fit, traces of case hardening on buttplate drifting to grey. The original sights
