Winchester 1885 High Wall single shot rifle, cal. .45 Express, Serial #6247. The rifle is in overall good to very good condition with a 30” blued, octagon to round barrel with replaced front and buckhorn rear sight. The barrel retainsapproximately 20% of its blued finish mixing with a plum patina. The action has gone to gray with older, non-factory engraving depicting antelope on each side and scroll on the lever. The smooth wood stocks are in overall good condition, withthe fore end original and the buttstock an older replacement. The metal butt plate is a case hardened replacement added during the rifles period of use. The bore is very good and the action locks up tight. An interesting oldWinchester in a seldom encountered caliber. (Antique/PPT). $1,750-$3,500.
