Whitney .36 caliber Navy revolver, brown patina finish, wood grips, left side of triggerguard stamped “BIA” in small block letters. No serial number visible. With handmade holster and knife sheath, leather belt, brass buckle. The holster has been decorated with beads that show initials “BIA”. The knife sheath and holster are constructed of carpet type material similar to what small suitcases were made of in the mid to late 19th century, which is where the term “Carpet Baggers” came from. The pistol shows a dark brown patina and is heavily rusted, shows light to moderate pitting overall. Screws replaced, grips refinished, grip screw added, latch broken, repaired. The pistol shows hard use overall on the frontier and is only fair. The leather belt and buckle show artificial aging, and was probably associated with the period holster and sheath.
