Westley Richards marked bolt action sporting rifle in 6.5 caliber on Steyr model 1892 action (dated and marked 1893 on right side of frame) also marked “Made for Walter Locke and Company, Calcutta” showing Nitro proofs and a full complement of British proofs. The rifle measures 43” overall with 24 ½” barrel, serial numbered 1053. The rifle shows a 7 leaf folding rear sight of the express style and is mounted with hook type swivels and shows an English sling. The stock is plain checkered light-colored wood in very good condition. The barrel and action show 60% to 80% thinning and toning original blue finish. All matching visible serial numbers. The bore is fine to excellent. A classic colonial era early sporting rifle. Est.: $1000-$2000
