Westley Richards High quality drop lock 20 gauge double barrel shotgun with 28” barrels, 44” overall, extra fine engraved with fancy checkered stock, single trigger, auto ejector serial #17262. The gun shows full addressand appointment to George V indicating mfg 1940-1950’s. The top of the action by the release lever is signed Westley Richards patent One trigger. The engraving is quality scrolls with game birds, chiseled top ofaction and engraving extending onto barrel and rib. The trigger guard shows a gold factory inlaid initial “A” and center bar of initial may be a “V” which is stylized. The gun shows fine checkering in fancy patternwith pistol grip and splinter fore end also checkered wood butt with engraved and blued plates. The barrels show 95-98% bright original blue and trigger guard shows 80-90% bright blue. The removable bottom plateshows 80% thinning blue. The frame shows 90-95% bright case hardening, the stocks are fine to near excellent with some slight scratches. The action is tight, the bores are bright. The gun is choked approx.
