The internal construction of this set almost certainly dates to 1923 as I believe the Model # also indicates. One collectors guide indicates a date of 1925. The set may have been sold in that year but almost certainly is older in design and manufacture. The three coils are spool wound and positioned geometrically behind the tuning condensers in a style that clearly precedes the mid 1924 introduction of the Freshman Masterpiece. It uses potentiometer bias to reduce oscillation, which preceded the Neutrodyne circuits as well. Anyone familiar with early radio can, at a glance inside, know this is truly one of the first three-dial TRF sets made. It is in near mint original condition and is likely the oldest three-dial set in this collection.
