Well-marked early hand and one half broadsword of central European manufacture showing nicely worked hilt and matching pommel with armorer’s type stamping on the blade. The sword measures 44” overall with a 36 ½” blade that is measuringapproximately nearly 1 ½” at the widest part. The blade may have been reduced slightly or tipped during the period of use. The grip is original and the sword does not appear to ever been a part. The guard and blade show some light to moderatepitting. The leather over cord wrapped grip is good. A classic fighting sword that we would date about 1580 to 1620. Est.: $2,500-$5,000
