Webley & Scott double-action revolver, .455 Webley caliber, factory nickel, checkered composite grips, 6” barrel, serial #1450. Barrel marked Army & Navy, C.S.L. in its original felt-lined oak case with brassmountings. A copy of records from The Army & Navy Co-Operative Society Ltd states that this pistol was sold to John Owens Johnson, of the 12th Prince of Wales Lancers, and who later served in the Boer war in the RoyalIrish Regiment. The pistol remains in very good plus to near fine original condition with 85-95% original nickel, some slight losses on gripping areas and high points, some minor scratches, just beginning age. The markings and edges are super-crisp and sharp and completely unpolished. The original small parts and screws are all retained. The action is tight, the interior excellent, the bore bright with just some slightimperfections that look like dirt and would probably clean. The revolver locks like a bank-vault and shows little use. The interior of the case is in very good condition with a blue felt lining, showing some small tatters
