Watercolor on board showing self-portrait of "Charlie" Russell with inscription "To M. Harold Oliver From C M Russell Great Falls Mont 1917" with trail-skull marking, approximately 8" x 10", nicely framed andmatted. Letter from Ginger Renner dated October 26, 2000, describes the painting, photograph and inscription, and states this sketch and watercolor was done at the height of Russell's artistic skill, and is a verygood likeness of the cowboy artist. She further states: "There is no doubt whatsoever that this is an original watercolor by Charles Marion Russell, augmented by the personal photograph.". An original sticker on reverse from Biltmore Galleries of Scottsdale describes the watercolor, shows Cat.# O-2120, and provides the provenance from whom our consigner purchased this artwork. The condition isvery good and could use slight conservation and cleaning which would brighten it nicely. The photograph shows a cabin with a man in the doorway who is probably Russell himself. The identity of M. Harold Oliver is unknown,

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
