This lot offers an exquisite Waterbury Brass Co. brass pail and ladle- Patented December 16. 1851 by H. W. Hayden's. This brass pail which was around for the end of the fur trade era was believed to be used by Native Americans as a basic trade tool. This bucket is entirely brass with an iron rolled lip and an iron handle. The ladle shows a hand wrought handle hand riveted to the brass ladle. It is stamped on the bottom with "H. W. Hayden's - PATENT - DEC. 16 1851 - Manufactured By The Waterbury Brass Co.". This pail is in good condition, and has a magnificent patina. Has a crack in the brass (see photos). The pail measures 11 1/2" Dia. x 7 3/4" H and 17 1/8" L
