Warren Percussion Fowling Piece with Ambidextrous German Silver Mounted Stock
The light floral engraved lock is marked "WARREN / ALBANY". The floral engraving extends to the fish sculpted hammer, upper tang and German silver trigger guard, lower buttplate tang, and overlay on comb. Ambidextrous half length stock with German silver animal overlays on both cheekpieces (a squirrel on the right cheekpiece and a stag on the left cheekpiece), pewter forend cap, a checkered wrist, and German silver crescent buttplate and reinforcing plates.
BBL: 41 inch part octagon
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 62
Finish: brown
Grips:
Serial Number: NSN
Condition: Very good. The barrel has a smooth dark brown patina with some minor spotting and handling marks, along with some deep flash pitting. The stock is good with a minor crack on the forearm (right side) and large chip missing near the upper tang, with a few scattered small chips (a larger chip on comb) and some minor dings and scratches. There are two gouges in the overall crisp checkering. Action needs work as the hammer with a replacement screw does not hold at the full cock position.
