This is a Second Type Model 1795 Flintlock Musket as manufactured in 1809 with the detachable iron flash pan. The lock plate is dated "1809" at the rear with "US" over an eagle over "SPRINGFIELD" in an upward arc ahead of the hammer. Left side of the barrel has "P eagle head V" proofs with the number "5" stamped at the muzzle. No visible markings on the stock with the buttplate dated "1809". Complete with a button head iron ramrod.

Condition: Very good. The metal surfaces have been cleaned and there is even mild pitting. The refinished stock is fine with chipping along the ramrod channel and around the upper tang, a small sliver of wood is missing from the forearm (left side near front band), and a hairline crack on the left flat, along with some scattered minor handling marks.
