Walrus head carved into man's face with carved animal tusks, inset ivory eyes and driftwood pupils, musk ox hair, cross fox ruff, mounted on wood by Joseph Inakak from Newtok, AK- There is a story of a shaman from the Nelson Island area who said that, before he passed away, he would become a red walrus. No man would be able to catch or kill him and would be seen only from afar off, never within shooting or striking distance. A few men from the Nelson Island area have said that they have seen the elusive red walrus, who is said to be still around today. No one has been able to get within distance to catch or kill it. This is a story told to Joseph Inakak by an 80+ year old man from Newtok. And this mask is a depiction of that shaman. (147)

Checks, Visa and Mastercharge Accepted. Buyers are responsible for arranging and payment of shipping post auction, however Alaska Auction can make suggestions for local shipping companies. Usually small items less than 10 pounds are shipped Priority Mail. Our minimum for shipping and handling is $25 with in the United States. Please contact Alaska Auction Co. after auction to make shipping arrangements otherwise we will ship your goods as mentioned above.
Post auction payment will be deducted from credit card immediately following the auction for all bidders outside the Anchorage area. Bidders in the Anchorage area should pay and pick up their items either the day of the auction before 6pm or the following auction business day – check for specifics.

Payment Details:
Payment is due the day of the auction or the next normal business day 9am - 6pm Acceptable payment is Cash, Check, Visa and Mastercharge. After that purchases are subject to a $10 per day, per item storage fee. $25.00 minimum handling fee for all shipped items plus postage. General shipping is UPS insured, priority shipping to be paid directly to UPS.
