Our Assessment: The enfield No4 MkI is a bolt-action, magazine-fed rifle that was used by the British military from 1941 to 1957. It was developed as a modernization of the earlier enfield rifles, and was designed to be more accurate and easier to produce than its predecessors. The No4 MkI was used extensively by British and Commonwealth forces during World War II, and saw service in Korea and other conflicts in the post-war period. The rifle was highly regarded for its reliability and accuracy, and was considered to be one of the best bolt-action rifles of its time. Today, the enfield No4 MkI is a popular collector's item and is still used for hunting and target shooting in some countries. This Canadian No4 MkI* enfield was built at the Long Branch Arsenal back in 1944.
