WWII Remington Rand 1911-A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #954303, .45 ACP cal., 5" barrel, Dulite black oxide finish, black-finished small parts, serial range for 1943 production, fixed thin blade front sight and drift adjustable fixed rear sight with small square notch, grip safety, checkered arched mainspring housing, lanyard loop, stamped steel trigger, slide marked with Remington Rand Inc. and address, small "P" proof on top of slide, FJA inspector's stamp on side of frame with "P" proof, crossed cannons proof mark, U.S. Property mark, and M 1911 A1 U.S. Army mark. Dulite black-finished barrel is marked with HS and P on the lugs, checkered brown plastic grips, and one black-finished General Shaver spot welded steel magazine. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 93% original finish, with light holster wear on the front edges of the slide, front edges of the frame, tops of the sights, light wear marks from use on the grip safety sides, hammer, and trigger, slight thinning of the finish on the safety lever and hold open lever high edges. Left side of the slide near the mfgr's markings has some wear to the finish. Typical scratches and wear on the frame by the hold open lever from disassembly. Barrel shows wear on the top chamber area from use and very light wear on the body, with mint bore. Action, hold open, and safeties all function properly. Grips are very nice, the grip screws show very light high edgewear, with clean slots. Magazine shows a two-toned finish, the top being black, the bottom with a brown plum-colored finish, with light wear marks on the body from use. Est.: $1,500-$2,000. (C&R/PPT)
