WWII Nazi SS M33 Dagger
WWII Nazi SS M33 Dagger. The SS M33 Ehrendolch (Honor Dagger) was a ceremonial dagger that signified membership into the SS. There were three patterns of dagger with the first pattern being produced from 1933 to 1935, the second pattern being produced from 1936-1938, and the third pattern being produced from 1938 to 1942. These daggers were the official sidearm of the SS dress uniform and SS members would wear to formal events and ceremonies. This dagger was produced by Carl Eickhorn and has early nickel silver upper and lower crossguard and scabbard fittings. The reverse of the lower crossguard displays the gruppe stamp III (Berlin). The blade features the deeply etched SS motto “Meine Ehre Heisst Treue” (My Honor is my Loyalty). The blade displays areas of minor oxidation along with excellent crossgraining. The SS enamel grip button and nickel silver eagle are in excellent condition, ebony wood grip has some chips near upper crossguard. The scabbard, once anodized, has been professionally repainted. Overall very good condition. From the Michael Clifton collection.
