This is a very nice example of a mid to late WWII Nazi K43 sniper rifle as produced by Berlin-Lubecker firm at Lubeck that carries the wartime code of (duv). These rifles all have the late rough forged receiver, with the single bolt guide on the left hand side of the receiver. The left side of the receiver is marked "eagle" 214 Waffenamt proof/ serial number/ K. 43/ duv44/ eagle firing proof. It is fitted with the late-war rough cast bolt carrier with the latch on the right side, and the hollow cocking knob on left side, which has been stamped "30-06" on top. It has the original military style front blade with the military tangent rear sight graduated form 100-2000 meters. It is fitted with the late-war pattern laminate stock and early style dark red plastic handguard. There is a single Eagle/214Waffenat proof in the pistol grip area. The original scope rail still mounted on the right side of the receiver and currently it has an original late-war ZF4 sniper scope and original mount installed. The mount carries the correct Eagle359 proof in the center section of the mount below the locking latch. The scope is an original WWII ZF4 model made by the Opticotechna firm in Czechoslovakia that is marked on the right side "Gw ZF4 dow/18280". It is complete with an original WWII, gcb coded, K43 marked magazine, an original leather sling, cleaning rod and front sight cover. It has an original German 98K round oiler inside the buttstock compartment.
BBL: 23 inch round
Stock: laminated
Gauge: 30-06
Finish: blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 6495k
Condition: Very fine as rechambered with 95% of the original blued finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots overall. The stock is in very good condition with no cracks or damage anywhere, but it does show signs of an old light sanding and revarnishing overall. The handguards in near excellent condition with no cracks or damage anywhere which is usually what happens to these early plastic handguards. The scope and mount retain 95% of their original blued finish overall with minor edge wear the optics are in very good condition, being clear, but a little cloudy or hazy. As noted above the top of the bolt carrier is stamped 30-06 and we have checked the barrel and it has been rechambered for 30-06. A 30-06 cartridge will fit in the magazine, if you are using shorter 100-140 grain bullets. Also the last inch of the barrel has been professionally shortened which removed the threaded portion along with the barrel nut. Still a very nice example of a WWII K43 sniper with an original ZF4 sniper scope and mount.
