Hermann Goering Stag Horn Corkscrew. Hermann Goering was the commander in chief of the Luftwaffe and a close associate of Adolf Hitler. He was known for his lavish taste and avid enthusiasm for the outdoors. He was the highest ranking Nazi official to be tried at the Nuremberg Trials and sentenced to execution by hanging but committed suicide by cyanide the night before his execution. This corkscrew came from one of the Goering trains in Carinhall and was used in the Berghof where it was found by 1st Lieutenant D.C. Watts of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Infantry Division. Corkscrew handle is made of stag horn and has the Goering Coat of Arms on a silver endcap on the end of handle, coat of arms is deeply etched. Handle is in good condition with slight wear on end tip.
