This is a standard late production WWII German Army P.08 Luger as produced by the Mauser factory in 1942. This series of luger has the all blued finish with checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber area is stamped "42" for the year of manufacture and the front toggle is stamped with "byf" the wartime code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "eagle/135" Waffenamt proofs along with a single eagle firing proof, with the same proof on the right side of the barrel. The safety and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Matching numbers, except for the grips which are unnumbered. The left rear side, of the frame is stamped "P.08", which was a late war Mauser mark. It is complete with on type four army magazine that has the blued magazine body with the unmarked black plastic magazine base with the reinforcing pin through the center of the base. The left side of the magazine body is marked "fxo / eagle/37" and "P08".

Condition: Very fine with 97% blue finish overall with wear on high spots with small patches of moderate pitting present on the left side of the front side base. The grips themselves are in very fine condition with a nice medium brown matching color on both sides, with excellent checkering with a slight flat spot in the center of the checkering probably from a holster stud. Mechanically excellent.
