Featured in this lot we have a a collection of four World War 2 Cavalry saddle rifle scabbard for M1 Garand rifles originating from the early to mid 20th century. The rifle scabbards are most likely from the First World War that where modified with the metal side plate to fit the Garand just prior to the Second World War. Three of the scabbards show brass action plates with the fourth showing a steel plate. The first of the scabbards is marked "U.S. J.O.M.D. 1940 J.D." near the metal plate. The second scabbard is marked in faded lettering reading "U.S. Milwaukee Saddlery Co. 1942". The two other scabbards are marked, but the lettering has faded . Three of the four show one or two straps with one missing straps all together. The scabbards are in good condition overall with the expected wear from age and use. The scabbards measure 29 1/2" long by 7 1/2" at the widest.
