This is a very scarce and desirable late war "Mauser Banner" German Army contract Black Widow luger pistol. These lugers were produced on a very limited basis from 1938 through 1942 with an estimated quantity of approximately 500 total being produced. These have to be one of the rarer of the Mauser Banner Luger models and this model specifically since it has the late war, Black Widow "P08" markings on the right side of the frame. These luger have the all salt blued finish to include the small parts and are fitted with checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber area is dated with late style two number, date coding system which is "41" for the year of manufacture, with very desirable "Mauser Banner" logo on top of the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the early Mauser double "Nazi eaglel/655" Waffenamt proof, next to the single eagle firing proof. Both proofs are also stamped on the upper rear end of the barrel, with the full serial number and bore diameter. 8,82 marked on the underside of the barrel. The left side of the breech block also carries the single Nazi eagle firing proof. The upper safety area and extractor are both correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. This luger is complete with one original late production type three, Army magazine that has the 'fxo/eagle 37/P08' marking on the left side of the magazine body, with the black plastic, unnumbered type base with the reinforcing pin through the center.
