This is a very fine example of a mid-1940 production Luger as manufactured by the Mauser factory with the all blued parts. The top of the chamber is dated 1940 and it has the '42' code marking on the front toggle. This was the first year of the change to the secret '42' code markings on Lugers. It has the later ''Eagle/655'' Waffenamt proofs on the barrel extension and underside of the barrel, along with the single eagle firing proof in both locations, as well as the right side of the breechblock. It has the standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the upper safety area and extractor, respectively. It is fitted with standard checkered walnut grips and is complete with an all blued, unmarked magazine with an aluminum base that is marked '9416n+' with the single eagle 63 Waffenamt proof. As noted this model has the all blued finish with walnut grips.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger

The grips are in excellent condition with checkering on both sides with no cracks or damage, showing some slight refreshing of the checkering on the right side. The Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted above and the grips, which are numbered "95".
